Post your AP Scores! 2006

APUSH - 4
Art History -3

So dissappointed

Also I got 670 on the US SAT, but 4 on AP....WTH.

^Damn I meant 640...but it won't let me edit

By crude math, ((4 / 5) * 600) + 200 = 680, which is within 40 points?

Anyone in PA gotten scores yet.

Or heard anything about the German exam? Not a single person has posted a German score.

AIM me!

i havent gotten them by mail yet in massachusetts, these were by phone:

bio 5
english lit 4
french language 2

*ing french. I got the french award for my school in 9th and 10th (I'm a junior) but my teacher is such a *ed up whore that I hated her too much to do well. as if she taught well to begin with. oh and plus my parents made me wrtie an essay on huck finn that weekend. long story. and plus some loser at my school did the third bomb threat in a month so we had to take it in this freezing window-pane-less top of a restarurant. as in it was 30 degrees......fahrenheit. blast it all. haha that was excessive. bitter am I?

^it's ok, i heard french is like the hardest lang ap? =/
and i thought spanish was hard...ack

its IB not AP ...IB i dunno what the mAx IB grade is but i believe its like 7 or 8 or something..lol

no scores in PA yet for me too...

quick q... are APs more respected classes/tests to take than IBs? My aunt was bragging about her daughter's school offering IBs and why i wasn't taking them (my school only offers APs) and she made it sound like they were more advanced and prestigious

Sometimes IB classes receive additional credit GPA-wise, more so than AP classes do.
It is more respected and a lot more difficult. Very rigorus curriculum.

Wow, phinxae...that really WAS bitter. Huh. But yeah, I figured I'd comment on your post since I had a really similar situation; my AP French teacher thought it would be much more educational to sing "heads, shoulders, knees and toes" in French all day rather than actually LEARN French. I got the French award at my school too, and I barely scraped by with a 3 on the French Lang test.

Anyway...I just got my scores in the mail TODAY...and I was super excited. It was miraculous.

~~~~~~~~~~
Biology - 5
Calc BC - 5
Psychology - 5
Lit - 5
Physics E&M - 4 (this is the miraculous one...my Physics teacher sucked and I thought I was doomed for a 2)
Art 3D - 2
JUNIOR year:
Lang - 5
Chem - 4 (Grr...)
USH - 4
French lang - 3 (again, miraculous)
SOPHOMORE year:
Euro - 5
~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't really care about the art score, so overall I'm quite pleased. Yay!

Colleges don't care what other highschools give. They care that you take the most rigorous course load at YOUR HIGHSCHOOL as you can. Don't worry about it. I hadn't even heard of IB until I came to this forum. (which means I pretty much can't directly answer your question lol)

Man, so many people up to, like, 10 exams this year! At my school, most people only take 2 a year, some people take 3, and a few take 4.

my scores this year:

English Language: 4 (I was really upset about this because I got a realllly high 5 on my mock...)
Latin Literature: 5
Calculus AB: 5 (I have no idea how this happened, I was expecting a 4!)
US History: 4 (I did really well on my mock for this one too, so I was suprised to have gotten a 4, but I had an awwwwful teacher who never graded our essays so I should be glad for what my studying gave me).

i think the main thing about IB is that its classes are integrated, right?

I mean, any teacher can make the course hard or easy...

me.duh, I think it varies from school to school between AP and IB curriculums. We have no IB classes at my school, but at least for my AP Latin class, I couldn't imagine a more demanding curriculum. All of our tests were AP style or taken straight from past AP tests and were not graded on any curve, and our test grade was our entire grade in the class. My teacher has a lot to show for her methods, though, as all of her students the past two years have gotten 5's except for one who got a 4.

Perhaps on a national level IB classes are harder, but I think it can go either way depending on the teacher. Often times college admission officers are familliar with the schools in the region they're in charge of and know which classes are harder and how hard. I was impressed with the knowlege of my school that various college admissions officers had when they visited it, they knew which extra curricular programs were demanding and which classes were slacker classes.

this year:

biology 5
calculus bc 5
calculus ab subscore 5 (what a surprise!)
physics c mech 4 (**** you, collegeboard)
physics c e&m 5

junior year:

statistics 5
