Now that most of the deadlines have passed, I think we could pass time by posting our best essays and reading each others.

I don't think anyone would steal them and even if they do it wouldn't matter.

So how about it?

So how about it?

In the notion of self preservation and some wisdom here, I recommend against this. It is nice to share what we’ve written, so we can see how others approached it, but posting essays is not necessarily the safest of provisions. If anything, I’d recommend sharing how you /approached/ the essay in terms of general ideas, focal points, or intentions.

I would like to think every future applicant is innocent and good, but human nature has known to be otherwise. I’d advise anyone who would like to share their essays not post them in a public forum, one easily accessible by next year’s applicants, who have the opportunity to use the same essays at the same institution who might use the same questions.

I think the last thing anyone wants is an e-mail next year, halfway through their year at their transfer university, asking why they’ve received your old essay from a new applicant.

Paranoia? Maybe. Practicality? Certainly.

^^ In that same vein…I don’t know how many admissions counselors or whatnot look at this board, and this probably won’t happen, but I don’t want one coming across my essay posted on here & then seeing my posting history or where else I applied and that I used their school as a safety, etc. I AM however all for sharing general details about how I approached my essays

I don’t really feel comfortable posting my essays. My approach was basically: list clearly what I wanted out of a school, how the target school matches these criteria, and why I would thrive in such an environment. My best essay was the one that laid these out really cleanly and neatly. Seems a little boring, but whatever, haha. I didn’t think they were looking for anything exciting.

Ive seen threads for multiple other universities where all of the students have posted their essays. someone stealing yours wont matter since the deadline already passed

^ what about people from the next cycle? i still wouldn’t.

If you dont want to then you dont have to. ive seen it done on many other forums so i though id get it started on here as well.

haah then lead by example! where’s yours?
