Post your "Can I get from...to..." questions here!

I figured since there have been a bit of these topics, we can make an aggregate thread.

To help you, here's the campus map: UC Berkeley - Large campus map

Also, generally, if you're going from south to north, it is uphill, meaning it will tire you out more or take longer. Likewise, going from west to east is uphill.

For perspective, I'm a relatively brisk walker, and it takes me about 8-9 minutes to get from Beverly-Cleary (southside) to Evans if I'm just trying to get to a class. I got to Cleary to Soda in 12 minutes a couple times, so it is possible to do it in under 10 if you run. Pimentel to Mulford was easily doable in about 6-8 minutes. Truthfully, 10 minutes is a good amount of time.

It would be great if we could just consolidate these questions on this thread.

Is it doable to get from Stanley to Dwinelle in 10?

Yes. It’s downhill, so that’s good. You won’t get the best seats, but you should make it.

I already know I’m never going to get on time from latimer to barker hall… >.<
plus the class before is lab, which means I’ll probably be late every time!

snoangel, if you’re doing chem3bl, you get out early often (well I guess it depends on GSI) but most people do get out early

Valley LSB to Stanley? I really doubt it since it is uphill. I will be going from a Math 1A class to a IB35AC class. What are the chances of making it in 10 min?

nope, it’s 3al…
i think vlsb to stanley can be done in 10 min, i had to last semester from vlsb to pimentel and it ususally took 8 min

What about Latimer to Etcheverry? Is being late to a seminar as bad as being late to a lecture or discussion?

Latimer to Etcheverry will be a bit hard, but doable. Take the shortcut through Cory.

this seems like a kind of thread that should be stickied

Is it worse to be late to a lecture or a discussion?

And can I walk from Wheeler to Tolman/Morgan in 10 minutes? =/

Wheeler to Tolman is doble.

It depends - if it’s a really important lecture that isn’t webcasted, then I’d rather not miss even a minute of it. Some discussions hold quizzes at the beginning so you don’t want to be late for those…

How about VLSB to Pimentel in 10min?

^
yes takes about 7-8 mins. uphill but doable.

@stly Thanks! How can I figure out if the lecture will be webcasted?

uhh which classes ?

[UC Berkeley Webcasts | Video and Podcasts: Fall 2008 Courses](<a href=“Webcast and Legacy Course Capture | Research, Teaching, and Learning”>Webcast and Legacy Course Capture | Research, Teaching, and Learning)

if it’s not on the 2008 list then it probably won’t be on webcasted for 2009

@88888888 Aw, I already checked the list for 2009 and none of my classes are on it. Do you know if it’s final?

the 2009 list is not final that’s only a partial list. that’s why i said look at the 2008 list
what class are you looking at…

How about Wheeler to Evans?

They’re cutting the number of courses that are webcasted b/c it costs money to pay the webcaster…

Wheeler to Evans is 5-6min. not bad at all

do you think the profs get upset when a student walks in a few minutes in their lecture? lol… I’m guessing the answer is YES!
