haha i don’t even know what these titles mean…

I don’t know what yours means xD

me neither. which is a little worrisome…

Did you take AP Calc AB or BC in high school?

You can expect to do something like this in Math 3C: http://www.math.ucsb.edu/ugrad/direction.pdf

uhhh both. i took the BC test and got a 5 on that and a 5 on the AB subscore. and thanks!

Oh, no wonder you’re in 3C, haha. I’m in 3B
My fault because our school only offered AB.

yeah well we got really lucky at our school. Our teacher wrote the calculus books… but the stuff in 3B isn’t that hard. It’s all antiderivitives and slope fields, which sound scarier than they are.

I know haha. Calc AB was pretty easy for me, but I messed up on a few things on the test, and I got a 4.

I feel like I’m forgetting all the Calc I knew. Stupid summer vacation xD

a 4 is still really good. I know I have forgotten like everything i have ever known about calculus. I wish there was no summer honestly. I just want to start at UCSB already.

Yeah haha. I would be pumping out integrals like crazy if the end of high school and beginning of UCSB were back-to-back lol. I totally forgot the volumes of washers and disks and shells and all -_-
Except for the R^2 - r^2 one, which is washer xD.

oh my gosh we are nerds. haha i remember shells! 2pi(k-x)(f(x)) i think…

Yeah haha. That’s disk!

I miss those times :P

No wait…you’re right, that is shell, haha. SHUN >.<

Disk is PI R^2 lol

i took the AB calculus class in high school but took the BC ap test. i got a 4 on both sections. is taking math 3c a good idea?

If your Calc skills don’t rust during the summer like mine, I would say go for Math 3C. It’s mainly building upon what you already know. You should be good to go Jetson.

math 5B with Moore
Music 15 with Paul D
Physics 23 with FYGENSON
Physics 3L with LIPMAN

I was thinking this was a freshman schedule, but then I saw Physics.

What the heck Jetson?! We have Chem together at 8 in the morning! Swell :D

Ya at first I wasn’t too excited about class at 8 but then I learned that some people I know have the same class.

And how does CLAS work? Do people sign up for all the classes they are in or just 1/2 they need the most help in?
