No, certified IGETC means all of your GE requirements are completed. If you've already completed the lower div major requirement classes, then all you have left are the upper div major requirements and Allied Fields. I believe it's 10 upper div Poli Sci and 4 courses in an approved social science field.

so are fiat lux classes easier cuz they're pass/fail? if i'm not good at physics and don't appreciate it either, what would i think of a physics fiat lux?? maybe it'll change my physics outlook?

I honestly doubt it. You know what will change your physics outlook? An amazing professor or TA.

Fiat lux classes are generally easy! 1-unit class?!

Fiat lux (physics) will probably NOT change your view on the subject -- for one thing, the topic you would look at it would be so narrow and specific... not the bet representation!

The best way to get into physics would be 1B. That is when things get a bit more interesting IMHO. Probably also physics 17 (why must it be at 9am?).

Pray for an excellent professor who cares about his students. Or at least, a TA who isn't condescending and full of himself. Be cozy with them

Some are effortless. I can't reveal which ones though. :)

I would agree. If you hate electrodynamics already, then physics is not for you. I would also say take Math 32B. If you don't like multivariable integration techniques, then you cannot be an engineer. Or solve physics problems.

My orientation is session 106, so I'll be enrolling Aug 8.

ASTR 3 (staff)
GE CLST 72A (Bio/Sex cluster)
MED 19 (Fiat Lux)
CHEM 14A (LAVELLE, L.)
MATH 31B (JENKINS, P.M.)

Should I be worried?

looks fine to me

Test out the schedule for the first 1.5 weeks of the quarter. Drop one of the classes (probably Astro 3!) if you're worried about the adjustment process. As for my schedule:

Upper-Division [Major] Class
Random GE Class
Language Course
Lower-Division [Major] Class

Here's my course load for Freshmen fall quarter (Biochem major):

Math 32A (Calculus of several variables)
Chem 20A (Structural chemistry)
Art History 50 (Ancient Art)
Fiat Lux - Anthropology19

Seems ok for the first quarter.. I think I'll take more classes next quarter though.. my schedule seems empty haha

Math 31B
World Arts/Culture 22
History 9E
Chinese 1A

Is this schedule too difficult for fall quarter? I looked up WAC22 and Hist9E on bruinwalk and they seem to be pretty easy classes.

Math 31B (Jenkins)
Chem 20A (Gelbert)
Eng Comp 3 (Samuels)

who's a good physics teacher who may "change my physics outlook"? i'm doing pre-med track

and which physics does he/she teach?

and same questions w/ math 3B and 3C?

for phy sci major and english minor, how does my schedule look? any conflicts? lemme kno:

freshman yr
2: ge clst LA, ls 2, chem 14A, math 3B
3: ge clst LA, span 28A, chem 14B, math 3C
summer: chem 14bl, english 4w (or 4hw)

soph yr
1: physics 6a, english toa, chem 14c, chem 14cl
2: physics 6b, english 10b, chem 14d, biochem 153a
3: physics 6c, ehglsin 10c, biochem 153l, phy sci 111a (or m180a)
summer: london-169a, 181e; english 131C

^ ls 3 and ls 4?

chem 20a (scerri)
math 32a (rogawski)
history 1c (the staff)

current as a Fall Quarter Freshman:

MCD Bio 40 w/ Tarleton(life science GE....is this class difficult?)
Math 31B w/ Jenkins
English Comp 3 w/ Giuliano

i'm thinking of adding Chinese 1 into my schedule...is that overkill though? (19 units w/ Chinese 1)

Physics 1C
Chemistry 30B
Chemistry 30AL
Physics 4BL

I must learn to love chem and physics.

chem and physics = true love!!! ahhaha
