Post Your Fall09 Schedule!

Jeez all these engineering and math classes.

EEB 100
Psych 116
History 9E

hewhothrows: I took 1a at a CC. I also have 90+ quarter units so I am above junior standing. Can I still not take 1b my first quarter?

heaven- take wittman for 10A, if possible. not likely, since he’ll fill up first, but burhanuddin is an awful and disorganized prof, so only take him if you can teach yourself the material…

how is engr 110 too much work?

To get the most out of the class, you have to read the entire book. The entire textbook will be lectured from (~500 pages). 110 has the most math involved in the series, though the computations are trivial (concepts are much more important of course)

There are assignments each week, some requiring writing. There is also a programming project, an Excel project, and attendance is graded. They are all rewarding though.

In all, the workload is between that of an easy GE and an introductory engineering course. People who have expectations of doing nothing all quarter believe the class is too much work. And these people get screwed during exam time.

i highly recomend ENGR113…i’m taking it this quarter and really enjoyed it. it’s taught my professor pao.

so im guessing its not that big of a deal to not take 110 and just do the other ones? cuz 110 is labeled the intro one or something right

Japanese 1
Econ 101 (is Copic new?)
Mgmt 122
and considering App Ling 10w or some GE or something…

@confidentiality
I’m not sure if I would have wanted to take Mgmt 1b my first quarter. Just make sure to stay on top of things.

It doesn’t matter the sequence you follow. All of the technology management courses require about the same amount of work, just in different approaches. No experience necessary either.

I would recommend 110 first, to see if you have an interest in technology management and finance. 110 will give you an introduction to the company’s balance sheets and the process to calculate valuation figures.

112 is useful to practice your communication skills in written form (business plan, executive summary) and oral form (elevator pitch, video recorded presentations). In 112, you will develop the ability to think from a different perspective and to communicate your ideas in an entrepreneur style with great efficacy. The course will be carried out from an entrepreneur’s point of view as opposed to that of a technical enthusiast. Useful if you are thinking about a startup.

In the 110-111-112 series, you will learn a great amount in the current event discussions, especially economic indicators. That’s the very least you should learn if you’re not into creating a startup or any fields of finance.

Thanks. It looks like Wittman is later in the morning, so it’s the one I wanted anyway.
