<p>I could be wrong about this, but I believe that CB will permit “My town is the largest in the state and it has a population of 10,000 people.” The version with the comma is correct, but I don’t think CB requires it.</p>
<p>Yeah, I think that no comma is perfectly fine according to the makers of the SAT.</p>
