k_twin..... thats kinda interesting. My score report showed that I didnt omit any questions but I did in fact omit one reading and one writing question.

i didnt omit any for writing, but it came out that i omited one question..
strange.

OMG! I did so bad! I have to retake this in April. By the way I got 800M, 800CR, 800W.

Lil_killer, those scores are horrible!!!

approximately.. how many questions should I get right and miss/omit in april if I want to get a 2200?

Faithful, I got a 2210 (750 CR, 730 M, 730 V) and got about 4 wrong in each section and omitted none. Hope that helps.

Do yall think that the Writing and/or Critical Reading Curves will be a bit easier in April? I mean, the writing especially, since it was harsh last month. The CR I'm just disappointed because I had a 50/50 shot at an 800 and I blew it. =(

billybobK, wutd you get on your essay?

I got an 11 out of 12. The key to the essay, I think, is making stuff up since they don't fact check. I made up some statistics and studies by the Harvard Institute for Psychological Research, none of which exists as far as I know.

Did any Seniors here send their January SAT scores to colleges?
I did, but in my history of sent scores, it still says 'request still pending.'

Is it like this for everyone else too? Damn, why's it taking SO LONG for it to be sent ELECTRONICALLY?!?

I sent my Jan scores and then called all of the schools that I applied to about it. All of them said that the scores will arrive in time to be considered and there is no reason to worry.

My senior D sent her January scores, and online it also says "request still pending". So I think that's normal, Eddieee. She did notify a few admin counselors at her top choice colleges by email what her scores were (since they went up), since they may not get them for a few weeks---we hope sooner.

for schools like stanford, duke and ivies, about what's the lowest score you can get and still be considered?? like, i know that there's really not much of a difference between 2340 and a 2390, so how low can you get without them immediately throwing out your app??
sorry that was NOT very articulate---
here's my deal: i'm absolutely in love with stanford. what i want to know is if i should definitely try to push my scores up (2200, 730 CR/ 760 M/ 710 W), or is that a good enough score if my grades are really good and the rest of the app is strong?

finally got my scores lol

MATH: 800
Writing: (Left most MCs blank...cuz I already have an 800) 12 essay, 400
VERBAL: 780 (I can't believe I actually omitted one...meaning 2 wrong and 1 omit holler!!!) This could have been a 760 if I didn't omit that one. lol

is there any penalty for bombing a section like that?

O MY! Not even answering the MC writing b/c you got an 800? A 400? I know they take the best score, but if I was an adcom I would reject you just for being so damned lazy.

I've thought about that whole leaving a section blank strategy, but I ask myself what other things I would have done w/ the time I spent NOT doing the section. I mean, it's not like you're allowed to read a book, right?

Besides, sometimes you can learn neat things. For example, rather than skipping the verbal section one year, I learned all about roundabouts and how safe they are. Now I am a roundabout advocate. The SAT changed my life, lol. :)

dude....I was "sick" and I wrote admissions telling them that so OWNED!

this is the real world...get over it

billy bob you are officially weird. SAT changing your life...what kind of people lurk here.

its a stupid test...that fails to define anything except for how well you take the SAT test.

agreeeeeed. around here so many people pays tons of money for tutoring that really dumb people do well and some really smart people dont b/c they dont bother with a tutor
