I don’t have any illustration/drawing in my portfolio at this point. But here is some of what I am considering putting in my portfolio. I don’t know if any will make it…

i am a rising senior and attending pratt’s pre college program this summer. these are the pictures that i know that i will put in my portfolio for sure, but im still working on putting good drawing in there. id be happy for some reviews on what i have so far

applying to CCA, SFAI… and i doubt i’d get into these schools, but my brother said “you never knowwww” so, the usual pratt, parsons, RISD and NYU (lol, i wish)… don’t think AAU counts right? that’s a 100% guarantee admission xD

Pernesus: I really like the 3rd photo in your flickr, the one of the band! I really like the saturation and colors

Laura: Your pen and ink stuff is awesome

This is my flickr, I just put all of the stuff I’ve done that I think could be portfolio-worthy. I’m not sure what I’ll actually put in my portfolio. I’m supe passionate about graphic design, and I’ve been doing it since 6th grade (I’m currently a senior) so I’m positive I want to major in it.
I’m planning on applying to:
University of Georgia, Carnegie Mellon’s School of Design, Brown/RISD program, Yale, and possibly Wash U

Any advice/chances would be seriously appreciated!

I am applying to Cooper, SAIC, SMFA/Tufts, Yale, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard, and possibly MICA

I might study gender studies instead of fine arts in college because I think it’s impossible to make work about what you don’t know, so I want to know about my subject matter (queer culture) in depth before pursuing it as a career

EdenW, oh JEEZ. You’ve just successfully scared me. We’ve got a very similar list of schools at the moment (except Yale–I hear their GD undergrad program is simply a concentration where you don’t take many classes in GD?), and so I glanced at your portfolio. JEEZ. I love your oils, they’re super great.
I only started art in junior year, so I suppose I’m just a bit behind…
But yeah! Good luck! I think you’ve got a great chance.

I agree… Eden, your style is so crisp and uniquely yours. You’re very lucky to have found your passion so young and then stuck with it! (I wandered out of art for nearly 6 years, if that’s imaginable). You’re seriously going to do great wherever you go!! Awesome work :)

i plan on applying to risd, pratt, saic, tyler, virginia common wealth, & cca
ucla and otis are my back up because i don’t really want to stay in los angeles

my first choice was yale… but the chances are way to slim so i’ll apply probably for graduate school
and then i was also thinking skidmore but my parents don’t want me to go east coast unless the school is renown

i’ve already visited lots of art schools in the east coast
schools like saic, mica, sva, and tyler liked my portfolio and suggested to aim for scholarships
but schools like pratt said i need to work on my concepts and ideas
so this is not my final portfolio, just the portfolio i showed to the school visits

im applying to caltech. i got the gpa, act, aps, blah blah blah.

but i’m also planning to submit an art supplement. its some of my stuff from ap studio art (i got a 5). i still dont know the portfolio size requirements so i guessed 12. most of the pieces were from my concentration which i chose a shift from chiascuro towards tenebrism of the human face and figure.
