I'm going to be starting some new threads these next few days for us Stanford SCEA Rejects (there being many more than usual this year). Anyway let's all post our rejection letters if you're comfortable doing so, just for the purpose of seeing how the Adcoms thought through our applications.

No statistics. No whining please.

Dear Evan,

I write to tell you that we are, regrettably, unable to offer you admission to Stanford University. The overall strength of our applicant pool and relatively small size of our freshman class means that we disappoint the vast majority of our applicants each year. We acknowledged your strong interest in Stanford, which made the task of sending you this news especially difficult. I am personally sorry to share this disappointment with you.

I have enclosed a sheet with the answers to the most commonly asked questions about the Single-Choice Early Action process at Stanford. I hope it will help answer some of the questions you may have about our decision.

Evan, you are a fine student with solid support from your teachers and advisors. I am confident that you will enjoy great success in your undergraduate education. I only wish we had room for everyone with talent and energy like yours.

With best wishes for an outstanding undergraduate experience,
Richard H. Shaw
Dean of Admission and Financial Aid

so it's all a generic letter from Stanford?
I know Dartmouth personalizes their rejection letters because my friend got one that basically said, Hi, just because you have a super legacy does not mean you automatically get in. Have a nice day.
How horrible is that

I know!
the only good thing about that was that he ended up becoming more angry than depressed, and it helped him move on easier, because seriously, who wants to go to a school like that?

Back on topic = are we sure that Stanford's rejection letters aren't personalized yet? I don't think so ... cause no one has posted their rejection letter except me yet ....

no, they're not personalized. mine is the same. verbatim. if you really want to see my rejection letter, just copy paste the one above and replace the "Evan"s with "Varun"s.

I think there must be another rejection letter as well, because this one states that you are qualified. There must be one for a student applying with Cs and Ds saying that you simply aren't academically qualified.

Personally,
I had a rejection letter from Cornell that stated that my academic credentials were strong, but they didn't have any room to take me in for this year's class. Yeh right! I figured that my quickie essay, which I wrote at the last minute on the 500th anniversary of Columbus discovery of Hispanola had something to do with it. So I called the school to find out the real reason for my rejection. They told me that they were not impress with my essay and felt that it didn't put my writing skills to good advantage.

That was the source behind it.

Contact Stanford to find out the reasons behind the rejection. If it's the essay, write a new one. If it's your grades, no one can help you with that.
