Post your required-reading-list for this school year!

As in what books your school (i.e. your English teacher) will have you read over the course of this year.

Unfortunately I've read most of them already... t'will be a boring year. :(

thread inspired by the "Reading Requirements Aside" thread. :)

I don't have a set "list" but from what I know, we have to read [or have read]:
The Divine Comedy
Beowulf
Canterbury Tales
Heart of Darkness
tons and tons and tons of poetry

^all of which I've already read..
And some more that I've already read, like Brave New World, Candide, a few Shakespeare plays that I've already read, lol..
My class will be boring too.

edit - This is for AP Lit as well.

English Language:
[ul][]The Scarlet Letter
[]Fast Food Nation
[]As I Lay Dying
[]A Streetcar Named Desire[/ul]

American History:
[ul][]A People's History of the United States
[]Coming of Age in Mississippi
[]United States (1776-1992) (it's our textbook)
[]Two other books of our choice from a reading list the teacher made.
[/ul]

i don't know about which books we will read over the school year, but for AP Lang, we read these books over the summer:

Barack Obama -- Dreams from My Father
Calvin Trillin -- Messages from My Father
&
Nerds: Who They Are and Why We Need More of Them by David Anderegg

We're probably going to read something in AP Spanish, but I'm not sure what.

For AP English, we'll read probably around 10 of these:
Mythology
The Oedipus Plays
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
Invisible Man
One Fle Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Brave New World
Heart of Darkness
Frankenstein
St. Joan
The Handmaid's Tale
The Tempest
Othello
Catch-22
Myths to Live By
Beloved
Waterland
Mrs. Dalloway
A Room of One's Own
The Awakening

None hopefully

I decided to hell with AP curriculum, I've read it all, doing independent study.

Midnight's Children
Satanic Verses
Inferno
Breakfast of Champions & more nonSL5 Vonnegut
War and Peace
the trial, Kafka

Maybe more, depends on how quick I finish. The awesome thing is I just have to write monthly papers for this godlike English teacher, not take tests or do assigned crap. Its great.

The Awakening was the worst book I have ever read. I was so happy when it ended. I LOLd when she committed suicide. Sorry for ruining book, but now you don't have to read it.
