i don't know too much about them, but still deciding on a major as a second-year pre-med, and if i choose humanities (likely), i DEFINITELY have to do a postbac program. i would probably have a 3.1 UCLA science GPA if i had to guess (with humanities major) --eww. that's too bad that one quarter ruined it all! :(

questions about postbac
1. do i have to try to apply to med school in order to be admitted to the postbac?
2. do most/all postbac programs have mcat prep? if i already took the mcat and am satisfied with my score, could i just opt out of the mcat sessions and only take the classes?
3. how much could my science GPA raise (max) with a postbac program? i know that it might vary for different programs, however, i see that 17 science classes at UCLA (earning all As hypothetically) bumps up approx. 0.5...and that takes 2+ years to complete...

general:
to what extent does a humanities major make med school applicants stand out? if im horrible in science, maybe it doesn't.

moreover, i am planning to major in something that interests me...and i gotta see that for sure soon.
