I was recently accepted to SFS EA. Over the weekend, I got a postcard from someone in the admissions office congratulating me on getting in and wishing me a happy holiday. The card was not a form letter; it was handwritten and it discussed one of my essays.

Did anyone else get something like this? I am really impressed by Georgetown, and it was one of my top choices even before applying but I love that the admissions office would take the time to write applicants a personalized note, especially given how busy the AdComs are around this time of year.

Assuming they haven’t changed their practice from when I was accepted a year ago, the regional admissions officers send a Christmas card with a short personalized note to all students admitted in the Early Action round. Every year, admitted students are touched by it, as they should be.

As a current SFS student, I can also tell you that this level of personalized attention is what you will receive from faculty and staff if you decide to come to Georgetown. This is just the beginning! Congratulations on being accepted. The Hilltop is a very, very special place and I hope you are giving serious thought to joining us. Please feel free to PM me with ANY questions you may have about Georgetown or the SFS.
