My d has received some postcards from the schools she interviewed (safe not to mention names)....lovely notes saying how they enjoyed talking with her and etc. Is it just a practice in some bs or should we put any meaning into it? D is thrilled though...feels like they care.

I received emails, postcards, letters, or notes from all my interviewers after my interviews. I think that's normal for them to do that. ;)

I think it is just a nicety. Your daughter should reciprocate with a "thank you for the interview" note.

My d received thank you notes as well as holiday cards. We told her that everyone gets them (she was thrilled to receive them; at times I thought it was a bit heavy handed given there is no guarantee of admittance).

I have three children who have been through the prep/private admission process. It is standard practice that they send postcards. She should send a thank you after her interview.
My daughter who played a sport at one school wuld receive postcards from the coach from the school she ended up at. I still would not read much into it as admission is never guaranteed.

on my postcard from one school, it said "i look forward to seeing you here", does that have any significance?

I would take it that the interviewer certainly liked your daughter, but that's far from an acknowledgement of admission.
