63 views and no answer… What is your problem people?
I would suggest going here
[The University of Chicago - Chicago, Illinois - Undergraduate Information](http://www.collegeview.com/schools/the-university-of-chicago)
take a look around.
Your SAT score is a 1480 correct?
I’m not familiar with your school’s GPA system @_@ so I can’t comment on that.

It seems your really invovled with extra curric activities (that’s good)
Your position in some of those clubs are impressive.
I’ll assume your grades are mostly A’s.

If so then I’m sure you have a chance to get into the college of your choice :]
Your SAT score seems odd and out of place when compared to the other info you’ve given…
I would say comeback after you get more info on your ACT and when you have your GPA.

Well I have never gotten below an A, mostly A+s and it’s just generally out of 100.A+ is 100 A is a 94 and so on. I have the most rigorous courseload offered, I guess the hardest one in my whole grade 8 APs, research, and programming.
My ACT I took last week so I hope I did well on that, the SAT is a 2190 overall, yeesh ;( I just did 1600 because I know cornell and chicago view it out of 1600.
Thanks for replying, but my main hope is Cornell ED
Also this is my GPA, my school does it a weird way out of 8 but I have a close to perfect GPA, that’s probably the best part of my app so I guess assume it’s good. My school does it out of 100 and out of 8, and I don’t have the out of 8 thing but it’s a 99 out of 100.

Bump lol so few responses!

I think you have a very good chance at all three schools. I got into Cornell regular decision with only slightly higher stats, but your ECs are much better than mine were. It seems like you’ve shown a lot of interest in Cornell, which is a big plus.

Thanks, how much higher were your SATs (IIs)/GPA and rank?
Also which school/major did you apply to?
Thanks for replying!! :)

I had a 2230 SAT (1530 M+Cr), my GPA was similar to yours (mostly A+'s with nothing lower than an A), and my class rank was top 2-3%. My SAT IIs were 800 Math II, 800 Chem, 800 Physics, and 800 Bio (M). I applied to Chemical Engineering in the College of Engineering at Cornell.

Ah so your GPA was pretty similar yeah I’m the same I guess with that, SATs definitely better, SAT IIs about the same (Econ major I need US so I feel like that fits, so my 780 chem won’t hurt).
Thanks a lot for the input, and if you got in RD to CoE I hope I can get in ED to CAS
How do my ECs look specifically, you said they were good but why, it looks like other kids have ECs that are 50x better?
Also for other people’s reference, I have by far the hardest courses available and almost definitely the hardest schedule in my entire grade…

It’s true that there are a lot of people on CC that have unbelievable EC’s, but yours aren’t bad. I like the fact that you have multiple leadership positions, since colleges always look for those. And the Cooperative Extension thing looks pretty cool.

Anyway, your EC’s are better than mine for sure. I had pretty much only research, music, and tutoring, with no leadership positions.

Meh I hope so, but I also hope that this year isn’t supposed to be harder to get into schools! My grade is so competitive, we have 2 2400s, and like 25 kids with 2300+s!! It’s crazy, so I’m trying to stand out with the hardest schedule and my leadership stuff.
I hope it works!
But just so you know I’m only taking AP/classes that I’m interested in, don’t get the wrong idea. I could have taken like AP Physics C, AP Bio, AP computer science or music theory etc. but i love history., math, language etc. so don’t think I’m just padding the app too! I have a passion for what I do ;P

I think that actually works in your favor, because your class rank is a lot more meaningful when there are lots of top kids at your school. I think you’ll be fine. Good luck.

Thanks, you too; I’m sure chemical engineering is VERY hard :)

Bump! Im more curious to see if these ECs are passable at cornell ED or not, and the SAT
My GPA and SAT IIs i think are really strong though

I wouldn’t worry, it definitely looks like you have a good shot. Just write good essays and you’re in!

Gracias, I hope that’s true!

Bump…

Grr dont make me bump again!

jeez…bump
