Posting SAT score as Facebook status...

= the pinnacle of pretentiousness.

Seriously, who would have the nerve to post their SAT score (two people I know did this; both got 2350+) as their Facebook status for the world to see?

I'm just so incensed by the fact that someone would do this, knowing full well that probably no other person reading their status did better than them on the SAT.

Yea i had to restrain myself not to post it lol.

Yeah. I told some of my friends through FB, but I think even doing something like cutesy “accidental” posting on walls where everyone can see and where it can end up on everyone’s home page feed is lame, so I go through the messages.
Unfortunately, my mother has no sense of propriety so she told my score to not only my principal, but also to the superintendent (who is an aquaintance of hers who called to discuss another matter). Abs ridic. Patently ridiculous.

… guilty. :frowning: I guess I’m a pinnacle of pretentiousness??

I just posted that I was hella happy, and people inquired and I said in the comments of the ‘HAPPY!’ status… not that bad right? Heh…

TACKY. So, so tacky.

there were sooo many!
“…is so glad her sat went up to a ____”
“…got a 2400. no big deal…” << it seriously said that!!

haha i don’t really care if people do that though

Well I mean if you post ‘happy’ or something along those lines as your status, inquiring minds will want to know the cause of your elation… and you have a right to tell them haha.

But putting ‘OMG 2370!!!’ as your status? **** youuuu

My friend put “35  x100998876”. He’s not my friend anymore (he took the ACT). ,and i told him straight up when i saw the post that hes a *ing cocky and ya…we were DONE after thr argument

lolz that is so pretentious…

Yeah, even I (see other thread) didn’t do that.

ya i think this is the place to take out that sat-bragging energy.
here where everyone else is crazy too.

I did that because I wouldn’t be able to tell all my friends through a message. I don’t see why other people have a problem.

I guess the culture is a little different in Bangladesh. People kinda want to hear that their friends are doing well.

Oh, I love when people post them! Even if they scored a 1350 – post it!

… And, yes, I actually made a list of SAT Scores. It’s funny how there are clear ‘rings’ – 1700s-1800s are generally the honors kid, high 1900s-2000s are the AP students. And then the ones above 2150 are the Super Deluxe AP Students who are just… geniuses.

I don’t mind. It’s fine. They worked hard, and they’re proud. :)

@The Government 1st post: I personally, think they deserve to do whatever the ********** they want because it is extremely hard to do so well.
And it’s a risk because if I got a score like that I wouldn’t like the world to know

Who cares? I’m not posting my scores, but I wouldn’t care if anyone else on my friends list did. If they’re happy, then good for them. I’m not so insecure as to think that posting great scores as a facebook status is a grave insult to everyone else :]

then again, no one I know talks about SAT scores, so I’m probably not as inundated with standardized testing chatter as some of you…I can see how it could get irritating.

They just can’t resist, I mean, if I had a high SAT score, I would post mine in facebook.

If I got a 2400 I would post it on facebook. Sure, some low scores would get jealous but that’s the point of it.
