I have been thinking about Northwestern and from what I’ve heard, it looks like a good school. I am a homeschool student and if I applied to NU, I would apply to their nursing program. It looks like a great program. Can anyone tell me more about their nursing program? NU is a Christian college, right? No one has said anything about anything Christian there. I would probably not be very involved with the Greek scene. I would rather hang out with the international students because that is my heart. After reading this thread, I am having second thoughts. Are any of the students attending NU that have posted on this thread Christian?

NU is not a Christian college, but you can certainly be Christian here. I have RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) to thank for most of my friends here. I don’t believe we have a nursing program.

@carnation, I wouldn’t let this one thread get to me if I were you. There are always going to be unhappy students wherever you go; most of them just don’t bother to write about it on the internet. This is just one of those unhappy students who voiced his/her opinion. However, I do not think NU has a nursing program.

Carnation is clearly thinking of Northwestern College, in Iowa, not Northwestern University.

sigh…

This is definitely the best and most truthful account of a student’s experiences in Northwestern. Bumping this so future applicants can read it.

Averby, did you even read the thread? Almost no one agreed with “warywildcat”. He seems like a bitter malcontent. Have you even been on campus for more than 2 quarters yet?

Awesome… I (albeit impulsively) applied ED having never seen the school and now I’m reading this…
Don’t know whether to start hyperventilating or not.

PBunny, did you get in ED? I think that post is junk – someone bitter for getting worse grades than they hoped. There were about 10 other follow-on posts that were neutral to positive. College is largely what you make it.

Wise words, thanks Daddio… We should all try to keep that in mind :)

Pbunny - PM me if you want more feedback about NU, or have questions - I have a D that graduated in 2009, and a Son currently attending NU. However, since you were admitted to NU, I would expect that you understand the big picture fairly well, and probably don’t really need your hand held to any great extent.

This is a 5 year old thread initiated then by one unhappy poster, now resurrected (???).
Think back to 2009, a major league depressing year - height of the recession - no one hiring.
Different campus, different world, today. Thank heaven.
