<p>Hi I really want to have a major in Graphic Design without going to an art school because i want the choice to go to a non-art major/minor. My interest in graphic design is the advertisement portion (designing logos, posters, billboards, etc) NOT web design. I need to stay on the East coast, my favorite college at the moment is Virginia Commonwealth University. I just want to explore my options. Thanks! Any suggestions are appreciated</p>

<p>I’ve heard good things about Carnegie Mellon’s School of Design, which includes graphic design. A friend of mine who is a graphic design major applied to Carnegie Mellon, Yale, and Cooper Union on the east coast.</p>

<p>I had looked at carnegie mellon and had a meeting with them, but their graphic design is more like app design or they also offer industrial design which would be like designing an iphone.</p>
