I heard on the news that CSU staff is voting on whether or not to strike. The issue is mainly over limiting class sizes. It also regards a 1% pay hike but supposedly that is a lesser matter.
While I am in complete support of limiting class sizes I am very concerned about a potential strike right as my child would be starting quarterly classes.
Anyone else have an opinion?

Keep us updated. My daughter is from out-of-state. A strike could be a deal breaker for her.

Supposedly any strike would be limited to 2 days per CSU campus.

Not only am I worried about the strike, but I am also worried about the budget cuts… I mean how is that going to effect classes, the “learn by doing” program, etc… I hope that there is not a huge change

The change is already huge. However, Cal Poly does have an endowment and will shift gears to corporate and alumni sponsorship. The school plans to raise capital.

what do we think about that idea of cal poly becoming private? Can a CSU even do that? Also, would that mean tuition raising through the roof? no thank you

OsakaDad
Would you go into more detail on this? What do you know about their plans? Thanks.

Cal Poly students also just voted in the Student Success fee, which will help.
