I am a junior taking AP Calculus AB. I got a B for 1st semester and I might potentially get a D for 2nd semester just because of one bad test that I totally bombed because I did not feel well on the test day.

I talked with the teacher about my situation and he totally ignored me, so there is no way I can make up that bad test.

All my other grades are As and Bs. Overall unweighted GPA is 3.5 ish. I took 1 AP class sophomore year and I am taking 4 AP classes junior year. I will have about 200+ volunteer hours by the time I apply to UCs. I was on the basketball team for 2 years but had to quit due to health concerns. My SAT was 1890 the first time I took it and I plan on taking it again after studying thoroughly. Also, I am a first generation college applicant.

I'm planning on applying to UCs and I want to know:

What can I do to make this D less damaging on my UC application.

Can I still get into UCI, UCD, UCSC, UCSB with this D?

Will getting a 4 or 5 on the AP test "negate" the D?

If I re-take Calculus at a local cc, will they average the 2 grades?

Any additional advice, personal experiences would be appreciated! Thanks.
