Potential St. Paul's School Applicants?

Hi everyone,
I'm a freshman at SPS and I was wondering whether any of you were interested in applying. This community really supported me during my admissions process; I would like to give back to CC by offering up my services as well. Do you have any questions pertaining to SPS? Doubts? General comments? I'd be more than glad to answer them!

HI

Do you know @ManhattanCandy‌?

Do you remember how your interview went? @‌boardingschoolx I just had mine over Skype and it was slightly awkward. It was very question and answer style, with no converation at all. Is the interview for SPS designed like that? When we started, my interview said that he would be interviewing me for the “next 19 minutes or so”, and my interview was exactly 19 minutes long. (My shortest one by far- My Andover one was 45 minutes and My Lville one was 80 minutes). However, my interviewer said that “he had a lot of information about me to put into the computer, which is good.”

Is that actually a good thing? My interviewers from Andover and Lville also said the same exact same thing.

I’m kind of worried right now…

@mathman1201 Don’t worry. Why? Because worrying won’t get you anywhere. Write a thank-you to your interviewer and then focus on the parts of the application you can change.

Thanks @stargirl3
I can’t help but worry, though. :-&

@boardingschoolx come back.

@mathman1201:

When I did my interview at St. Paul’s, I was nervous, a little jet-lagged, and DEFINITELY not my best self. My interviewer noticed my anxiety and offered me water on multiple occasions. I left the campus feeling rather discouraged about my prospects… but when the dreaded M10 arrived, I received an acceptance email nonetheless.

Honestly (and I say this from experience), the interview REALLY does not make much of an impact on the admissions process. As the old adage goes, quality over quantity. Nuances like the duration will not maximize or minimize your appeal as an applicant. The interview is really just an opportunity for the School to get a general feel of who you are, what you’re interested in, etc. If your interviewer said he had enough information, trust him! SHORT IS SWEET. Trust that he knows best. Trust that you did the best you can.

Some words of advice: You can never really gauge whether or not a school wants you or not. There’s no point in doubting yourself now. You can’t redo what you’ve already done. Let your failures inform your decisions in the future. Be confident in your own abilities. Allow your unique personality and talents to shine through. And not to be cliché, but que sera, sera.

I hope this helped to some capacity. If you have any more questions pertaining to SPS or the admissions process, please inbox me.

@stargirl3: I inboxed @ManhattanCandy but she hasn’t responded yet.

@‌boardingschoolx
Thanks so much for the reply. I feel a lot calmer now. >:D<

JUST REALIZED AN ERROR IN THIS. I meant *in some capacity

@mathman1201 I’m so glad I’ve helped. Good luck with your admissions process!

Felt the same with my Lawrenceville interview tbh, shortest and, IMO, the worst, but I guess they liked it.
