Potential transfer from fellow NESCAC

I’ve spent a couple months at my current NESCAC school, and I am considering transferring. I’m going to make my final decision toward the end of my first year here, of course, but right now I’m thinking that I’d like to apply as a transfer to Amherst.
I know Amherst is keen on community college applicants, but does anyone know how they feel toward transfers from fellow NESCAC schools? I’m freshman class president, hold an executive board position on another club, and am predicting my grades to be in the B to A range with mostly A’s.
I applied last year in my senior year of high school and was rejected, but I’d really like to give it another go. Anyone have any thoughts or experience on transferring from another NESCAC? Think it will have any impact on the adcom’s decision, whether positive or negative? Thanks.

You have to have a really good case why Amherst is SO much better for your future goals than your current school.

Some years they take nobody from another 4 year college.

Is your among that NESCAC schools that qualify you for a semester as a visiting student? If your transfer application is unsuccessful, that may be something to consider.
