Potential Transfer Student from USC

I am looking to apply to Cal in the fall as a junior transfer from the USC Marshall School of Business into Haas. Where can I find out how my courses here transfer to UCB? The only transferable courses I can find on the website are ones from state colleges and junior colleges. There is no information regarding transfer units from private institutions. Does anybody know where I can find this information?

I know that the UC system gives priority to those who transfer from city and state colleges rather than private universities, so is it next to impossible to transfer into Cal from USC?

Thanks!

the transfer

you’re unlikely to find anything solid on the internet. Talk to your counselor at USC and come up with a valid reason for the switch. Ask them what courses you need to take (which one’s articulate to Cal) and call up transfer admission into Haas and ask them the same thing. Probably the best shot at something concrete.

Edit: you should also e-mail the various parties so that everything is in writing.

The only thing that I could think of that would help you in terms of classes transferring, is to see what classes transfer from a local CC to USC, and see how they transfer to Berkeley.

For example if two introductory Econ classes at a CC counted towards Econ 1 at USC and they transfer to Econ at Berkeley, then they might/probably will transfer from USC to UC Berkeley.

Definitely email counselors to get solid information, but this should at least give you a general idea if the courses would cover the same material.
