Potential Transfer to IU

Hey i'm at BU right now and although i like it, i don't love it. i know its too early to make decisions but i'm considering transferring to IU, which was my original first choice.
i was wondering if there were any current students who could tell me about IU like what they love about it, what there is to do there like parties and around the town and stuff. i was also wondering when they rush at IU, is it fall or spring semester?
thanks so much for any help i really appreciate it!!

Not a student, but the parent of a very busy sophomore who has NO TIME to post here.

There are a lot of things going on at IU. There are always plenty of parties, whether you're in a frat or sorority or not. If you're not going the frat/sorority route, it's easier to meet people if you get involved in clubs. My son didn't like it his first semester but LOVES it now. He likes the size, loves the town of Bloomington, and likes most of his teachers and classes. The girls are beautiful and most of the students are down to earth and friendly. He's seen speakers like Christopher Hitchens, Carl Bernstein and this week he's going to see the Dalai Lamai who is speaking several days at IU. Last weekend he saw Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello, who were appearing there. There's a lot in the way of clubs, intramural sports, cultural and educational events. They have a good basketball team and an improving football team. And the campus is BEAUTIFUL.

My only comment is, if you're a freshman then you're in your first semester and that may be the reason you like BU but don't love it yet. Many students find the transition to be difficult. If you still feel that way in the spring, then you may want to consider changing schools, but if you're new there, I would wait it out.
