Hi all. I’m currently a first year student at a small but well regarded LAC. I’m not quite enjoying the small school vibe like I thought I would, and I find myself longing to either be at a bigger school or at least in a bigger city (grew up in a metro area). I have all As and will maintain that in 4 of my 5 classes, but my 5th class is looking to be at around C at worst to a B+ at best. At worst, it could turn a 4.0 for the semester into a 3.5 and at best into a 3.8. Is it worth dropping the course (I believe it’s a straight drop, not a withdraw but possibly might be a W on my transcript).
I’m potentially looking at applying to transfer at schools like Emory, Cornell, Georgetown, or Northeastern for fall 2017. Would it better to drop the course (potentially taking a W on my transcript) or have a lower GPA? Thanks!
