Ppl that got into ivys with low test scores

So I'm feeling kind of discouraged going into the college application process. I have lower than usual test scores and I want to apply to upenn ed and cornell rd. I'm just feeling kind of discouraged. Has anyone on here gotten into an ivy with "low" test scores??

I think you need to define “low.” You’ll find participants in threads here bemoaning 2100+ SAT scores, and others asking about their chances at Ivy colleges with under 1800. If your scores are under 2000/30, you are not an exceptional athlete, do not have a building named for your grandfather on the campus, or haven’t done something to earn attention well beyond your immediate community (e.g. play with a symphony orchestra, star in a major motion picture, publish a novel to critical acclaim, etc.), then your chances are exceedingly slim.

@woogzmama left out URM.

If your test scores are low (and you don’t have a big hook) but you can get good grades in CC classes, frankly, transferring in to Cornell from certain CC’s and SUNY’s would be easier (though you’d be limited in terms of majors, though).

There is little to no chance that an ivy would accept you. I think even the athletes are expected to have higher scores.
