PR Conselor-O-Matic

Is this acurate? I think it is messed up.

I think it is messed up too. It gave me a better chance at getting admitted to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill than Campbell University. That can't be possible.

The counselor-o-matic doesn't give you chances, it gives you matches according to the criteria you supply (school size, median GPA/SAT, location, etc). Campbell's average GPA/SAT probably didn't match what you put in, so it was less of a match - personality-wise, not match as it means on CC and to a guidance counselor.

Yeah. I am an idiot. I got that mixed up with some other tool that gave me messed up results. I don't remember the name of it. Anyways, just ignore my post because I really don't know the accuracy of it since I was thinking of an entirely different thing.

I think it's a little screwy. Here are the schools it gave me with a 1270 SAT and 3.8 GPA.

Safety:

Northeastern
American
UWash (OOS)
Villanova

Good Match:

Duke
Amherst
Dartmouth
Rice

Reach:

Harvard
Yale

It's not very accurate.

Actually...princeton review does both chances and school fit...

It divides it into reach, match, or safety (chances)

It gives the school a percent fit.

And yes, it is slightly messed up, because it's based on very unexpanded things...like EC involvement etc. But it is still probably fairly accurate

it told me schools that are matched for me that people on this site said I have no chance..

It's sort of accurate, but only really in a perfect world. Every school I looked at on PR, besides the Ivies, MIT, & CalTech, they said it was a good match for me. So basically, don't base your chances on a certain school on just PR. It's more useful if you look up stats on schools.

It listed Villanova as a safety for me as well, which doesn't make much sense as I'm only a little bit out of the middle 50%...not much of a safety really.

You have to remember that some of the colleges appear automatically because they're sponsors of the Princeton Review. Anyway, it put Amherst as a match for me, which is one of my top choices, but I only have a 2040 SAT. All my other stats are good, though. I hope I have a real chance.
