Besides the Real ACT practice tests, which other book(s) would you reccommend for practice tests? I know PR and Barron's are bad, but what about stuff like McGrawHill's book with the 10 tests?

mcgraw hill is great, some of the answers are iffy, but it's a great deal. It's all the practice that you really need. Also, try Kaplan and cliffnotes. I found those guides to be pretty good. Barron's is outrageous, but PR is not that bad. I believe Kaplan or PR is coming out with 12 ACT practice tests this december, if you are a junior this year.

McGraw's was the best ACT prep book I have ever invested in (it raised my score six points). Just taking a few tests with it helped me tons.

If you wanna see a test that is more like the real thing, call the ACT people and ask for the "Preparing For The ACT" booklet (it's totally free). Or you can purchase the red "Real ACT" guide, which includes three retired tests.

so McGraw's>the real ACT ?

i'm trying to go from a 24 to a 27

I know most act preparation classes allow you to take as many practice tests as you want for free

no, real ACT is the best
Mcgraw's is your second bet though.

Those 13 tests are all you need.

But I've heard that McGraw's is ridiculously easy, and some say that PR is great while others say its tooooo easy. Barron's is out of question. I have one more test leftin the Real ACT book which I'm saving for the week before the actual ACT exam.

I'm thinking of Kaplan's at the 'mo and then maybe McGraw's for reading + science. Math and english are way too easy in that I've heard...confirmation anyone?

edit
I've been scoring on the ACT practices:
33-34 English
33-34 Math
30 Reading (getting much,much better)
30 Science

I'm really hoping to improve those last two so I think Mcgraw's will be good for that

are you getting those scores from the PR? PR is REALLY easy!!

try mcgraw

Nope, mtran i'm getting those from the Real ACT book
