I applied to the Pratt Institute, and I knew that they were competitive (College Board says 42% acceptance rate) but when I got their official information packet, it said they only accept 39% and lately they've been getting more and more competitive.

Anyway, I applied as an international student, because the admissions dean said that even though I've been living in this country for twelve years, because my green card is still pending, I didn't qualify as a regular student yet.

I applied as a writing major. I sent in a portfolio. It had one short story, one poem, one short script, one essay, and one newspaper article.

So here are my stats:

Ethnicity: Hispanic
Sex: Female
Nonresident

GPA: 3.3 (cumulative is an 89)
SATS: Critical Reading: 630 Math: 480 Writing: 690
TOEFL: 113 (out of 120)
Recommendations: Really good, one of them is from a Pratt alumni
Extra Curriculars: Hardly any. Two jobs. And I "participated" in like three clubs.
Essay: Was pretty good

I realize mine is hard to determine, because the majority of my chance depends on my portfolio, but any opinions would be helpful.
