That’s good info. Thanks! We Paid the deposit on Monday for my son and waited until Friday for the One Key. But read on the “welcome new deposited students” page or someplace…that they send it out on Fridays usually. @pickpocket : you may want to check your spam/ junk folders and email them if you didn’t get it yet. Anyone doing architecture??
Thanks @awaitingoffers. Nothing in spam or trash. D left a VM for admissions. So maybe next few days. We also never got our FA info, possibly due to being on waitlist in Feb when those came out, but a call to the office got it resent in a few minutes.
Some interesting stats from the CDS data:
For 2017-18 year, Pratt Brooklyn had 6044 applicants, of which 3018 were admitted. (50%) (93 WL admits.)
For 2018-19 year, Pratt Brooklyn had 7941 applicants, of which 3060 were admitted. (38.5%) (58 WL admits.)
For 2019-2020 year, the President said they had over 10,000 applicants! I’d guess this means admit rate will be down around 31%.
Seems Pratt is getting increasingly competitive, so extra congratulations to all the accepted students!
The greater quantity of applications this year also may be due to the fact that Pratt extended their deadline several times, up until the start of April. allowing them to continue to get more applications in the months after other schools’ deadlines (which ranged from January 1 - February 1) had passed.
@pickpocket: thanks for the stats! very interesting! Good luck with all…hope you get the info soon! Our son has not gotten any info on housing yet so he wrote them an email today.

Congratulations. Very happy for your D. Can you share which program your D got off the waitlist? D is waitlisted for Pratt Brooklyn Interior Design program and has been accepted to Pratt MWP for the Fall 2019 semester in Comm. Design as an international student. Not sure if there is a chance of getting in at main campus.
Hi @Saileela123 My D applied Comm. Design - Illustration. USA student. Accepted to MWP but waitlisted at Main on Feb 22. Then on April 11 she was accepted off the waitlist (while coincidentally we were traveling to visit both Utica and Brooklyn.)

Anyone having problems completing their housing questionnaire? Son can’t seem to access the actual form. It keeps telling him to click a link and he does and then it loops back to the main login and he logs in with his new Pratt ID and password and then it doesn’t work so we think it must be glitching. We’ve tried everything. We’ll have to contact the office tomorrow I guess.
Pratt wrote they didn’t get our deposit and that’s why we can’t access the Housing stuff!! But we did pay, it’s cleared on our Credit card and i have the receipt which i sent to them !! With a day to spare but no word back!! UGH!
@awaitingoffers any update on your situation? I still haven’t received anything about housing yet and I’m starting to get concerned… if I don’t get an email by Friday or Saturday I’ll be contacting the office to see if I’m having the same problem as you…

@ArtHead : hi! Yes, after I freaked out an sent a copy of our deposit receipt to RESLIFE and admissions etc they each sent emails saying 'to be patient… it often takes a week or two to get the housing questionnaire". And then a couple of hours later the questionnaire appeared. SO my son completed it and got an automatic reply to his Pratt email. They did say not to worry as the DATE of DEPOSIT is what determines the housing preferences. However since they told me they had not received the deposit I was of course originally freaking. By the way he did NOT see Cannoneer court (?) on the list anymore. Only Stabile, Pabtas and the new Emerson.

I remember reading somewhere that Emerson was built to replace Canonner as a freshman dorm this year? Too bad cuz Cannoneer was my second choice! (didn’t like stabile because of the cinder block walls or Emerson because it’s a block off campus)
@ArtHead : you could def send them an email inquiring. It’s Friday and it would be nice probably to have that done before the weekend. I hadn’t heard that Emerson was to replace Canoneer court. I wonder what they will do with that space. I assumed it was getting renovated since Pratt keeps growing. My son kinda liked the idea of not having to clean the bathroom…as Canoineer was communal bathrooms. It’s hard to tell what the situation is with Emerson but it says 24 students and 10 bathroom per floor but the floor plan doesn’t really look like there are 10 toilets…maybe bath areas are included. And unclear who cleans them./…LOL. They are def pricier tho. And yes a block off campus. Son said it’s such a small campus it shouldn’t be an issue. We’ll see how it shakes out. Hope you get your questionnaire soon.

Idk if anyone is still keeping up w/ this thread, but does anyone have any suggestions for finding a roommate? I joined the Facebook group but I’m having trouble navigating tbh (I never use Facebook lol)
@ArtHead : my son is not into FB either but joined and is still waiting to be admitted into the group?? It’s been a few days. He didn’t write much in his request other than he is a newly admitted student. SInce he has no profile or pic or anything maybe they don’t believe him? Have you joined the INSTAGRAM group? There’ some kids on there looking for roommates. My son ( who’ll be architecture) is following the group but hasn’t posted his Bio yet. But he will soon (he has IB exams now so is studying a lot). Where did you pick to live? I can’t recall but he may have out Emerson even tho it’s the furthest from the ARCH building.
Anyway, check out the inst if you haven’t yet. It’s prattinstitute2023. He’s also following all of the Pratt pages to see whats happening. Cool stuff.

The FB group I joined was called “Pratt roommate search”, and they accepted me pretty quickly, but most people on there seemed to be looking for off-campus roommates. After I read your response, I searched Pratt 2023 and requested to join that group instead. Still haven’t been accepted either (maybe whoever runs it has been inactive?) but I think I’ll stick to the IG page since I’m not super familiar with FB anyway. Hope I find someone!
