My god. It's here. I just checked the app...nothing. Worst comes to worst...UCLA's always an option. I hope I get accepted (I'll need a boost to counter my rejection from Stanford on Friday!!!!).

You're wearing a Berkeley sweatshirt? I hope you jinxed yourself.

not even God can help you now.

iwantcal, if you get rejected by Cal i advise you to shoot yourself rather than go to UCLA.

I hope you get in, IWC.

I have a feeling that a lot of people hate me because I got into UCLA. A few of my "friends" openly signed off on my on aim after responding with a nice little "oh...nice...".

Well, I hope that you all have good luck with Cal.

whatiscollege: I second that.

why would they hate you?

UCLA is the bastion of mediocrity

they don't hate you, it's just that after a rejection(assuming your friends were rejected at UCLA).. having someone tell you of their success in admissions can be a little disappointing. college admissions can really have a depressing effect on people. I'm sure you can understand that.

congratulations on your acceptance to UCLA, though.

Ace Rockolla

now thats an awesome screen name

Congrats on your acceptance to UCLA.

Friends should appreciate your acceptance into a quality institution.

CAL, UCLA, Stanford, USC, UCSD, etc. are all very good schools.

Those who await acceptances to CAL would surely not appreicate someone from Stanford looking down their noses at you.

You are leaving high school behind soon, and moving onto more mature times. Let your attitudes reflect the new maturity. You may soon be working side-by-side with graduates from rival schools.

How is UCLA the bastion of mediocrity??

they're just baiting. nobody actually believes that.

SO DID YOU GET IN?!

I hope iwantcal gets in, lol.

And...I don't get in.

UCLA, here I come.

i want cal i wish i could trade acceptances with you

damn i wantcal, really sorry for you

my advice, transfer as soon as possible to Berkeley.

however, don't feel so bad, a lot of people are stuck with their safeties. like me... i wanted to go to MIT but now i'm going to Berkeley. i hope that helps. don't get me wrong, i still respect Berkeley, but i really wanted to get into MIT

iwantcal - I was denied as well. I think the whole berkeley sweater wearing crap jinxed it for us. ucla for you, ucsd for me. ... at least it's not the OTHER option... ugh our whole "Science" phase didn't help us get in

I know UCLA is an amazing school, but I must admit their acceptance process was skewed this year. One of the stupidest students in our IB programme was admitted and most of us thought that we for sure got in then. So the next morning it seemed as if walked into furneral home, the silence and sadness filled the room. People with 2300+ SAT and multiple 5 s on APs were denied, while the student with a B average and 1600 something SAT was happy as anything. At least I found justice with Berkeley. Congrats to UCLa Admitts!

I'm sorry to hear about the rejections. Don't forget, though, that these adcoms don't just look at the numbers. Maybe that classmate of yours had a very compelling essay or extraordinary ECs. Also, numbers won't really help you much if about half of the applicant pool had GPAs higher than 4.0 and stellar SAT scores.

Congrats to everyone who received good news today, anyhow! :)

I'm sorry, iwantcal, but hey, UCLA is an awesome school. I'm actually pretty sure I'm going to go there too. =) See ya there?

I wore my Berkeley sweatshirt to school today for fun and I guess it worked.

Here is my routine: Sleep for about 12-17 (17 for La, 12 for Cal), take a shower, wear school sweatshirt, check online... and somehow... luck takes over. It's an odd thing.

Though, there is a depressing I get having received nothing from USC yet. Probably can't afford it anyways =p
