Does taking a class pass/fail look bad on the college transcript as a transfer applicant? What's worse: a C or a P?

a "C" is much worse

most grad/transfer people want a revealed transcript anyway

If they want a "revealed" transcript, wouldn't they want the "C"?

They'd want to see it because they like to be in-the-know...

If they ask for revealed transcripts it doesn't matter if you take it P/F.

If they don't it's better to have a P than a C, but it depends on the class. If its an interesting elective that you're not sure you'll do well in it pays to take it P/F. The schools will see you had a reason for doing so. That's not the case for things like hard classes in your major (organic chem, mi-econ theory, etc) or for classes grad/transfer schools are going to be looking for in particular (Med-school meters, calc/physics if you're an engin transfer, etc).
