I have read in these threads that some schools send out "pre-acceptance" letters before the official date. Are they for reals? I just got a letter from a certain pretty good school, signed by the dean of admissions, that "there is no doubt you will be offered an admissions when we make the final decisions." Should I rejoice?

Are you talking about likely letters?

It’s sounds like a likely letter, which would be a reason to rejoice. It means that as long as you don’t totally mess things up, you’ll be accepted officially when decisions come out.
