pre-application?

Did anyone else get the viewbook from Wash U that had the pre-application sheet inside? It says "We encourage you to submit this form as soon as possible so that we may start your file."

When should this be sent in? Should I wait until late summer? I guess I'm still not positive that I'm going to apply there, so I'll wait until after I visit.

My son just received that too. We were wondering the same thing.

You can send it any time. I would not send it at all until you have some confidence that you will eventually apply.

I don't think I sent it until October to November. It doesn't really matter when you send it in as long as it's in before the deadline.

when it says pre-application, it really doesn't mean that. turn it in at the deadline and you'll be find. it's more of a supplement to the Common App.

It just helps admissions get a jump start on the admissions process (they can start your app. now instead of later on when there are a bijillion applications to start). Its a courtesy to send it in early if you KNOW you are going to apply, but its annoying if you send it in and then decide not to apply. Bottom line: Don't stress about it.
