So I just got here on Sunday, I made it a priority to try to go down to Cheadle Hall and try to see if I could change my major from Pre-Biological Sciences B.A to the same major but only B.S. Apparently all the pre majors are all B.A and then when you satisfy the requirements you can declare if you want to go B.A or B.S. Does this mean I have to satisfy the B.A general ed requirements like taking extra Area G/Area F classes to satisfy it or can I just satisfy the B.S general ed requirements because that's what i'll be switching to?

I don’t know if this a specific thing about pre-bio, but any time you are changing major you fulfill the requirements of the major you are trying to change to. Forget about the major you are abandoning.

and you’re not allowed to change your major until 2 quarters of residency, which means you can’t your major whatsoever until spring.

Pre-biology isn’t a major, so you haven’t chosen a major yet. The pre-biology courses will take up most of your schedule, so you probably won’t get to the point where you are taking the extra GE classes required for the B.A. majors.

Once you settle in this year, meet with an Biology department advisor. They will explain what you need to do. This messageboard is great for bouncing ideas around, but always get your final answers from those that work for the college.
