Pre-business

How good is the business program at Clemson? I was accepted at American University (business administration major) and am trying to figure out which one to pick Clemson or American. So many questions - Are there any opportunities for internships at Clemson? How hard is it to get into marketing? How are the professors?
Thank you everyone!

In Business Week magazines latest ranking, Clemson has the #71 undergraduate business program while American is 63rd. So American is slightly better.

Here is how it grades the programs

Clemson:
Teaching Quality Grade - B
Facilities & Services Grade - B
Job Placement Grade - B

American:
Teaching Quailty - A+
Facilities & Services - C
Job Placement Grade - B

prospect93 - Son is a junior marketing major (honors program) and has really liked the program (marketing/entrepreneurship more than the business core courses, e.g. accounting/finance.) No complaints on the professors overall (some really great ones!) and the business school staff has been extremely helpful over the 3 years with course advising, study abroad, summer jobs, etc. (set up the connections for a great paid internship last summer at an advertising company.) There are ample opportunities to get involved in Advisory Boards and other marketing-focused organizations on campus if you’re looking for those activities. We’ll see how the actual job prospects go, but his upperclassmen friends have not had too much difficulty gaining employment over the past 2 years.

Thank you both! it looks like it’s gonna be a tough decision!
