Hi, I’m considering taking pre-calculus over the summer on FLVS.
If you’ve taken it, would you recommend the class? Was it easy/difficult?
Thank you

I’m thinking of taking it as well lol. But bruh honestly I’d recogmend you take that ish in class or you’ll kill yourself. I’m only taking the first semester for grade forgiveness, and as a human being I think it’s impossible to do both semesters in 2 months.
My state also offers Pre-Calculus online, and I’m thinking of taking it over the summer as well. But from what I’ve heard, the teachers are not the best. I’m actually taking it through Stanford EPGY (the course is called Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry). If your school lets you do this, and still receive credit for it, you might want to look into this. It’s not free, but there is a teacher who you can ask questions.
Hope this helps
Thank you for the comments!
Yeah, I’m not too thrilled to even have to consider taking pre calc online, but I was supposed to take it this year and I didn’t so I have to make up for it somehow.
Plus, I’m scheduled to take AP Stats in school and I REALLY don’t want to double up on math. But you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do, I guess.
FLVS on Pre-Calc is easy, its doable, and is the best math to take online.
Stay focused, stay on top of the class. You can finish it in a month if you’re doing it over the summer.
I agree with the above poster. It is more about keeping yourself motivated. In my school, it is very common for freshmen to take pre-calculus online their freshmen summer. It is relatively easy, straightforward and doable.
It is just about staying focus. If you are extremely hardworking (and have a background in the subject), it is possible to finish the course in a week. And I honestly learn more from my FLVS than I do my on-campus math courses but that is because of my personal learning style.
The teachers are more of a gamble. They do not really affect your grades, but it can be difficult to get a hold of some. However, a lot are great. Some of the best teachers I know also teach FLVS.
Overall, the choice is really up to you, how much work you want, and what you want to do in your academic career.
Thank you for the replies!
I sent the request to my guidance counselor and I’ll use the two week trial period to decide if I can handle it.
