Hello! I am not a good math student. It just doesn’t click with me. I’m going to be taking AP Statistics this year (11th grade) and I have the option of also taking PreCalc this year, then AP Calc senior year. Would it look bad/ is it not reccomended to just take precalc senior year? Should I just take AP Stat and Pre Calc this year, then AP Calc? Is it manageable for someone who isn’t the best at math? Thank you.
Nobody here can predict how you might fare in calculus. Your best bet would be to speak with your current math teacher and guidance counselor.
What are you looking to major in?
Even if you’re not into math, taking pre-calculus is actually the recommended class for senior year, seeing how 4-yezr college bound students take agebra1&2, geometry and pre-calculus as their HS math requirement. Only top students take calculus (not that you’d know reading this website ).
What do you mean by ’ not a good math student ’ though?
Are you hoping to major in STEM? (I hope not since most of these fields require a strong foundation in math).
What colleges are you aiming for? At some. Colleges, calculus is assumed unless you offset it by taking other highly rigorous classes.
