Pre calculus

It is the only B I got during junior year.
I understand the teacher's examples, and class work, and can do homework. But during tests, he throws in a few curve balls that make me lose that A. How should I study for Pcal?

Do the hardest problems in the book, he’s likely basing examples off of those. If you get the trickiest ones in the book, you’ll probably get the curveballs on the test.

You need to really ** understand ** the material. Only then will you be able to solve all related problems.

you mean doing all the problems in the book?

how long before a test should you study? and study for how long?

Do not study. ESPECIALLY not for math. Just don’t be dumb. Seriously, it’s precalc…

hey, when my grade is being threatened, not studying is a dumb advice

Studying for math is a complete waste of time. You need to learn the concepts. Once you’ve done that, you should be able to easily handle his “curve balls.” If you are unable to grasp them, no amount of studying will help you on a problem type you’ve never seen before. This is math, not bio.

coming to the test, I always think Ive understood the math. But no. that’s why i’m confused and having a hard time trying to figure out what I’ve done wrong. And since this is math, be a little clearer?

So you literally look at the problems you miss and have no idea where you went wrong?

Which is … basically what FunStuff and aperion said, except Newport harps on it longer and harder.

Do you just memorize the formulas, or do you actually understand what’s going on in the problems (i.e. why you’re doing whatever it is you’re doing)?
