I’m hoping to study microeconomics and political science at the pre college program at Penn in the summer of 2006 (after my junior year). Considering that i’d get credits, and study with undergrads, would the program really boost my ED application to the college?(assuming I get in to the porgram
)

definately and it'd give you a great sense of the campus

thanks for replying. Is the application process very competitive? Are you planning on attending? Have attended? Know anything that would be helpful to an extremely confused high school junior?

i am applying ED.... it's very competitive to Wharton (where I'm applying) and slightly less competitive to Penn. Here's what I do know that can help you:

-Practice, Practice, Practice for your SATs and do well
-Take a tour of many school types small, large, city, rural, if you can... this will help you pick a school you want
-Work hard in your classes and spend as little time on here as possible (I see you already have 76 posts)
-Worry less about college... you got tonnnns of time and you probably have more important things to be concerned about

thanks. when I asked if "it" was competitive, I meant the pre college program- sorry about that. I've got the SAT's covered, I just need to focus this year. I too was once thiking about applying ED wharton, but decided (for now) that I have a great interest in political science as well, and considering Im an indian(the asian version) male, a political science major would be refreshing opposed to a finance one. But nothings defenite yet. Are you a junior or seniot this year? Best of luck.

senior and thanks

hey i took the precollege program this past summer. its not that competitive to get in. if ur an okay student ull definitely get in. 200 students got accepted last year but im not sure how many applied. but don't stress over it, its easy to get in.

the precollege is the best! i had the best time in my life! those 6 weeks were amazing and u will fall in love with Penn. U see my screename ASHURSTUPENN? Ashurst was the hall i lived in during the program. i recommend everybody to attend this program. u will love it.

is this program similar to the university connection program? is someone going to the university connection program this year?

i attended the pre-college program last year. it’s not really competitive but its a great experience. you really get a great sense of the campus and the teaching style at penn. also depending on which classes you take there is a good chance that you’ll have many more college students than high school students in your class and that’s also a great experience.
