Pre dental program?

Has anyone been excepted to the program? What were your high school stats? I'm a junior right now and am very interested in their 7 year program. Any info regarding qualifications would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Very few students are accepted into this program. Your best bet is to try to join this group and have a current student in the program answer your questions:

Good luck!

Hello, I am currently a freshman at Marquette University and in the Pre-Dental Scholars Program. While it is not impossible to get into, you certainly do need to have fairly good stats. Although I don’t know everyone’s hs stats, those that I do know are: 30 and up ACT, top 10%, strong ECs. There are a few other universities that offer similar programs, so check out your options. You are being pre-admitted into the dental school – this means that they want to know you have what it takes and are dedicated. Don’t be scared if your stats aren’t there, but make sure that you really enjoy dentistry and you have spent time around the field (shadowing). If you haven’t already, check out this page for more information and minimum reqs: [Pre-Dental Scholars Program | Marquette University](Pre-dental Scholars Program // Undergraduate Admissions // Marquette University)
I believe up to 10 in-state and 10 out of state students are accepted into the program.
I was accepted into a couple other programs too, but chose Marquette. Although I’m accumulating quite a large debt, I love it here and couldn’t be happier with my decision.

Let me know if you have any questions, I’ll try to check back!

Thanks so much for the response! My brother is currently a freshman there and I fell in love with it when I visit. I hear marquette doesn’t give too much merit aid though, is this true? I have pretty good stats, recs, decent ecs.

Also, what are the requirements to stay in the program?

No problem. It is true indeed. They’ll give you up to 12k a year for merit, but they are pretty weak with financial aid. Also, they host scholarship competitions for seniors, but only a few scholarships are rewarded. I was offered much more at other universities, but due to proximity, fit, and reputation of the program I chose Marquette.

In order to stay in the program you need to maintain a cumulative 3.5 GPA, receive a B or better in all math and science courses, complete 15-18 credits a semester, complete six full semesters at Marquette, and not repeat any math or science courses.
If you fail to meet that you go on probation and if you don’t get back up by the following semester you are removed from the program. Also, if you get placed on university probation you the boot.

Thanks for all of your help! I look forward to applying next year!

Hey one more quick question, do you still need to take the DAT before being admitted?
