pre-Econ&Acct. - how difficult is it?

I got accepted to UCSB pre-Econ&Acct. Major, and since they have an excellent program, I'm definitely considering UCSB.

(I'm still waiting for UCI and USC.)

However, I realized that I have to take certain classes to declare E&A major.

Did anyone got accepted to UCSB E&A and took classes there?

And how many people get rejected?

Thank you!

You need a 2.85 GPA in all pre-major classes to get into the major. That isn’t too bad but you also need a “B” or better in the first Intermediate Econ class to get in, which gives you plenty of room to eff up…

Remember you need a 2.85 UC GPA if you completed all other pre reqs at the community college then the final class you would need to get into the full major would be Econ 10A at UCSB.

A 2.85 GPA would mean you would have to get at least a B in Econ 10A.

As long as you get a B or higher in Econ 10A you will be accepted in to the major.

Thank you! Seems doable. So excited for next semester haha

good luck with econ 10A if you go to UCSB.
