I'm a rising Junior and I am of full Mexican lineage, 1st generation to even finish High School and my family came to the US 7-8 years ago. We are also of very low income (<45k, 2-bedroom apt, 5 people living)...anyways, enough pitty, let's talk stats:

Freshman year:
Honors Int. Science 1 - A
Honors Pacific Northwest History - A
Honors Cultural Geography - A
Integrated Geometry - A
French 1 - A
Photography - A
Infotech - A
Honors Composition/Literature - B
PE - A

Sophomore year:
Honors Composition/Literature - A
Honors World History - A
Honors Int. Science 2 - A
Advanced Biology - A
Algebra II - A
Math Analysis - A
Weight Training - A
French 2 - A

Junior Year:
AP European History
AP Biology
AP English
Physics
International Problems
Pre-Calculus
French 3

So far so good, ya?

Leadership is weak, I cannot think of any 'elite' E.C's, or Clubs that the people of CC haven't listed 1000 times (Honors Society, Key Club, etcetera, etcetera!)

Assuming I continue the 4.0 trend from Sophomore year, and have a relatively fair SAT score of 2100-2200, what are my chances at top 25? I live in WA, if it even matters. I'd like to be a doctor someday (surgeon), so I suppose my major is Pre-Med? Is pre-med even a major?

You're on the right track, but don't disregard those lack of 'elite' EC's. Just show that you're committed to what you do outside of school. Good luck!

^Nice job, just one B, congrats. Personally I would've taken AP BIO and chem junior year, since your main interest is medicine, but whatver. There really is not point in predicting chances with hypothetical SAT scores. I have friends who have taken the toughest course load at my school and have not gone beyond 2000, so I always think its best to use real scores for predictions. You don't necessarily have to do premed to go on to study medicine, you might want to major in say biology or perhaps even in bioengineering, there really is no specific major. Both my parents are doctors ( one is a surgeon, and the other an anesthesiologist) and neither of them did premed, they took courses that were related to medicine yes, but they preferred to take a different approach for undergrad.

Is working 30hrs per week to support family look good?

Yes, that's real big.

That'll get you a big plus at pretty much any school. Good shot at the 11-25 group of schools. Average for the 1-10, unless SAT IIs and SAT Is are real good.

If you a) get all A's junior year (or even just mostly A's). b) Score above 700 on all 3 sections of the SAT Reasoning, or all above 30's on each ACT section and at least a 10 on the ACT Essay...you'd have amazing chances at all the top schools, although nothing can be garuanteed. You'd also need to hope for great teacher recs and rely on your ability to write a stellar essay.

Oh thanks, let's hope I make it to even state colleges.

Does Harvard look good lol.

Yeah, it has a nice campus :)

So let me ask again: Do my chances look fair for Harvard?

You're a good candidate...yes, but to tell you the truth Harvard recieves tons of applications like yours, if you don't have anything to make you special its a crapshoot as is for all other qualified applicants.....does harvard even have premed that you want? Or are you jsut interested in the brand name?

Yeah, actually. Harvard, along with MIT have been my dream since 6th grade.

bites?? Nobody is posting anything else because there is a limit to what we can even presume to predict without real scores.
