In many cases you will need anatomy with lab and physiology with lab

For anatomy, you have one main option, IB 131/L. Lab will be a big problem for you. 131/L is only offered Fall and Summer. In Fall there are about 10 lab sections, in summer 3. If you are not declared IB, it will be very hard to get into 131L. You can try to get in for summer, but it fills fast.

For physiology, you have a couple options.
MCB 32/L
IB 132/L

If you are not a bio major, either option is viable for you. If you are a bio major, IB 132/L is your main option

There is a IB 123A/L and 123B/L, but they require 132L. IB 123A/L is taught by (one of) the prof(s) that teach 132/L so they may not appreciate you not taking 132L and taking their course. There is also MCB 136, but that has no lab so it may not be the best option for broad applications.

IB 132/L is offered every Spring and Summer. They offer about eight lab sections in spring and three in summer. This class is facing budget cuts so in the coming years it will be harder for IB majors to get in and it will be even harder for non-IB majors.

To reiterate seats are reserved for IB students in these labs during the school year. During summer there are no course restriction but they will fill up within the first week of summer registration.

I wrote this thread because yesterday in the IB office I saw yet another MCB pre-health student facing delayed graduation because they couldn't get into 132L. These classes are hard to get into period, but they are a good amount easier for IB majors to get into. So the point is, you may want to register for these for this summer, assuming you will have Bio 1A/L complete.

BTW A&P is not required for pre-meds. It might be helpful intellectually or GPA-wise or major-wise, but it won't necessarily help you get into MEDICAL school.

error above:
accidentally listed pre-dent, don’t have a source for it, so I don’t know if they need it.
