pre-health/bio

Anyone know the quality of USD's pre-health program and bio major? I think I read somewhere that only around 60 people take the bio major... well, anywayz, lets hear those comments.
thanks in advance,
Joey

Although not a ton of people at USD are bio majors (or science majors at all), USD's science program is definitely on the rise. (I would say that there are a lot more than 60 people majoring in Bio though) With the beautiful new facilities, I expect that the science major numbers will continually increase. If you are looking for a school/major where you'll actually know your professor, then USD would be a great fit. The lab classes only have about 15 people in them. No TA's as well....all classes are taught by professors.

There are definately a lot more than 60 people in the bio major. I am thinking about doing prehealth and the program is getting better each year. We have a new premed advisor and she is really great. There are TAs in the chem labs, but they don't teach at all. They are just there to help you if you need it. USD would be a good choice if you like having small classes and close relationships with your professors.

i see... i like what i see... hmm new premed advisor? i gotta ask... how many people end up going to medical school (not osteopathic schools, im really set on becoming an MD) and are premeds at USD?
thanks again.
