My daughter was accepted into Mt. Holyoke, and it is one of her top 2 choices. She is interested in becoming a physical therapist, which would require going to graduate school for her DPT. Simmons College in Boston also gave her a scholarship that would also cover grad school for their PT program at their college, and their location has easy access to working at local hospitals. Their scholarship was nice, but we still await their letter which outlines any financial aid. Any opinions regarding studying at a liberal arts college (such as MHC) and taking classes that would prepare you for graduate degree in the medical field vs. going to a college (Simmons) where you enter and take courses preparing you to enter the PT field? MHC seems like a great fit; we're just not sure if it would be the best route to take if you're preparing for something like PT.

Although I’m no expert, I would say that as long as your daughter obtains the pre-requisites while in college, which I’m sure can be done at Mount Holyoke, she would be fine. So happens I am a PT patient at the moment. My therapist majored in P.E.education undergrad. More importantly, the young woman he just hired majored in dance, danced professionally, went back to take courses to fulfill the pre-requisites and just graduated with her DPT. There are many roads…

You (or your daughter) might call some admissions of DPT programs to put your minds at ease.
