Pre law and pre med ?

Hey ,i want to know if pre law and pre med are competitive majors ? and what are the most competitive ?:

Pre-law and pre-med are not majors. You can apply both with any undergraduate major. Med school does have a number of required classes (you can google and get the list) but there is no required major.

Pre-law and pre-med are not majors but instead advisory programs that most universities have and that any student at the university can request to be a part of. The programs are designed to provide you with information and suggestions relating to recommended courses to take, summer jobs to seek, and applying to law or medical school.

Law schools accept students from a wide variety of majors, likewise med school although it has a set of required courses in math, science, and some other areas that you must take to be able to apply and majority of those who do apply often are science majors even though that is not required.

Note there are some colleges that have a major called “legal studies” or similar name and they promote it as something to consider as a gateway to admission to law school. Don’t believe it. Majoring in legal studies is not going to give you one iota of advantage in admisison to law school over other majors.

.

If you want to be pre med or pre law it doesn’t matter what you major in you just need a high gpa and LSAT (Law school) or MCAT (medical school) although law schools do consider your major and schools rigor more then med schools which are purely gpa and MCAT based.
