pre-law & christian life

how is pre-law at haverford? what classes would i take and how are they?

i'm a presbyterian-reformed (part of the korean-american church) and my faith is really important to me. i know there are churches nearby because i actually attended one for many years until now, at colgate university (which has absolutely no churches nearby). but i also heard that haverford is really dry...in terms of faith. would you agree...is it a really liberal school, like vassar is? thanks for your help!

Pre-law is like at any top lac... it depends more on the student than the school itself. My personal experience is that the few students who graduate magna (3.7-3.9), but mostly with high honors (3.6-3.7), seem to wind up at Yale, Stanford or Harvard. I know a bunch of people who went to Duke, Chicago, Columbia, NYU, Penn who are really good people and had gpa's 3.4-3.5 (honors or not). I know it also it depends on your summer experiences and also what cool things you did after college. For example, my HCO graduated with high honors in Poli Sci, then got a masters @ LSE in policy and then taught English in China for a year before going to Harvard. Oh yeah, he also scored a perfect on his LSATs.

Umm... liberal doesn't necessarily mean non-religious or non-spiritual, but I understand where you're coming from.

Now, it seems you will be a 1st year student at Colgate this year and I am not sure why you are already considering a transfer. Give it a chance.

I'm sure you are aware of the transfer rates to HC... :(
