I was accepted to NYU GSP for CAS for the fall. Anyway, I was interested in being a Biology major while completing the pre-med requirements. However, I found out that the breakdown of the classes is as follows for GSP students:
Freshman:
Chemistry I
Calculus I - II

Sophomore:
Chemistry II
Physics I - II

Junior:
Organic Chemistry I - II
Biology I - II

Does this leave enough time to prepare for the MCAT's and apply at the end of my junior year? Or would I most likely have to take a year off and apply in the next cycle? Does anyone know how many pre-med's go through GSP without taking a year off?

i'm sorta in the same situation. We called the school to ask if the how the pre-med track worked out and they said that you shouldn't have a problem. You get an advisor to help you on your path and what not.

I would suggest calling nyu for yourself, or even call the number they have where you can reach a gsp student cause they will give you the honest truth.

Yea, that sounds like a good idea. What number did you call? And what's the number to reach a gsp student? Thanks

Have you decided if your going yet?

hi, i was wondering if it was possible to study pre-med in the gsp program at nyu? if so what are the disadvantages? i know you receive an AA but im confused as to which classes you’ll be taking if you are required to take some core classes?
