Pre med and Physics

Hey Guys! I just got into BC and I’m really excited! I have a few questions that i’m hoping can be answered by some people that go to BC/know enough about BC to answer. I’m currently torn between two paths so I’m going to ask about both.

  1. Does BC have good Pre-Med(advising, research opportunities etc). Will they help me build the resume I need to apply to a top Medical school?
  2. How is the physics department? Specifically w/ regard to undergrad research opportunities

Thanks guys!

Premed advising isn’t that complicated.

  1. You take the prerequisites
  2. Your ECs show you have what it takes to be a physician.

That’s about it.

  1. yes, BC has excellent premed advisors. They have a committee system which writes/reviews recs. Given its location, Boston has a gazillion opportunities for ECs. Research is available on campus and off campus.

  2. physics department is decent, but not as strong as you would find at a college that also offers engineering. In the sciences, BC’s organic chem is excellent and its Bio is an up and coming program.
